Mentoring
How it works
Mentors are established international and
African diaspora academics who hold a PhD and will
undertake to provide mentoring in the following
areas:
* Review of research proposals for admission to
PhD programs.
* General academic and professional support during
the dissertation writing process
* Information on funding opportunities/scholarships
available
* Review of papers for potential publication
* Review of applications for funded research projects
Mentoring is conducted within allocated groups
in MyResearchSpace. A mentoring group is
accessible by the mentee and mentor only and provides
a discussion area, and the ability to upload files,
pages and bookmarks.
The mentoring service is supported by best practice
guidelines and is periodically peer-reviewed to
ensure quality standards.
Language
The mentoring service is currently in English, but
will be provided in other languages as the network
grows.
